Sequel Anyone?
Go ahead, inspire me!
Some of you may have noticed that I’m not posting as often here about Make No Mistake: The Novel. Not because I’ve lost interest or because the novel isn’t timely (indeed, with all the political, economic and social upheaval in the United States, Make No Mistake is even more relevant that when I published it a year ago), but because I’m working through final revisions on my next novel, The Last Word.
No, it’s not a sequel. It is an eco-thriller, and the main character is a ten-year-old girl. It’s still a page-turner like Make No Mistake but the pacing is more of twist-and-turn journey than a sprint to the finish, and the setting is a unique character in itself.
As I revise, I’ve been thinking about you, my readers. Many of you, after finishing Make No Mistake, reached out and asked for a sequel. You didn’t want the story to end, and you wanted more from Maggie. Since I’m always thinking ahead to a new novel, I’d like to hear more from you.
If there were a sequel to Make No Mistake, which characters would you want to follow and why? Which aspects of the book would you want me to develop further? How far into the future would you want me to explore?
Writers search for inspiration as well as ideas, so humour me here. Let’s see what you have to offer.
Waiting.
Listening.
It’s your turn now.

I will ponder when I have more time! Happy to hear about the new thriller.
Thanks, Beth. 🤗
